Dave Molyneux Comes From Behind To Win Tt Sidecar Race A
Dave Molyneux fought back to win the postpones 3 lap centenary IoM TT sidecar race “A” ( 113.19 miles/182.1 km ) on his Honda machine, chalking up his 12th win in TT’s.
Dave with his partner Rick Long were nearly 9 seconds down after the first lap from John Holden and Andrew Winkle but clawed it back with a superb drive to make it a triumphant day for the Honda factory and a win by 6.5 seconds
An exhausted Dave said he rode his heart out and had never felt such commitment going into bends as he had in the afternoons A Race..
Dave admitted he was left in the wake of first lap leaders John Holden and Andrew Winkle. But, with good Manx determination Molyneux reduces the time to 1.68sec at the end of lap two. Then halfway through the third and final lap edged ahead winning with a margin of 6.5 sec, which denied second place man John Holden and Andrew Winkle the win for Suzuki, with steve Norbury and Stuart Bond slotting into third position.
With Molyneux entering the record books alongside John McGuinness on 12 TT race wins, his passenger Rick Long also entered with books equalling the late Wolfgang Kalauch Passenger record of 7 wins.
